Refractive lens exchange can benefit many patients, but there are criteria to determine if the procedure is a good fit for you. RLE can benefit patients who:

Are over forty years old or have presbyopia
Have early signs or symptoms of cataracts
Have high myopia or hyperopia
Want to reduce or eliminate reliance on glasses or contacts

What to Expect

An RLE procedure is an outpatient surgery, so patients can return home the same day. Separate surgeries are scheduled for each eye, about one week apart. The procedure takes approximately fifteen minutes and recovery can last as little as one week, allowing you to get back to your life with clearer vision as soon as possible.
